ENABLING STUDENTS TO GROW WHERE MUSIC MATTERS!

About us:

We are the parents and friends of the McGavock Orchestra students!

The McGavock Orchestra Parents Association (MOPA) is a 501(c)(3) organization with the one goal, to provide access to music for all interested orchestra students at McGavock High School.

The MOPA raises money to buys sheet music, provide repairs, purchase, and maintain instruments for our students, and when it can sponsor scholarships for private lessons.  We are proud to provide our students the opportunity to travel and perform as an Orchestra representing McGavock High School.

The first Saturday in November

9:00 am - 4:00 pm

The McGavock High School Orchestra is made up of students in grades 9-12, organized in two orchestras. We combine classes for concert performances, and small groups may perform in the community for special occasions. Our Orchestra has a long history of successful performances and exciting musical events.

The McGavock Orchestra Winter Concert is a great time for fellowship and cooperation as it includes all of the string students across the McGavock Cluster.

Our Spring Concert features music for a full orchestra as we invite members of the McGavock Wind Ensemble to join us.

McGavock Orchestra students also participate in the Mid-State and All-State Orchestras, MTSBOA Solo and Ensemble, the MNPS Senior High Honors Orchestra, the Governor's School of the Arts, the APSU Honors Orchestra, and the MTSU Honors Orchestra.

Thank you for your continued support!
