The McGavock High School Orchestra is made up of students in grades 9-12, organized as two orchestras. We combine classes for concert performances, and small groups
performs in the community for special occasions. Our orchestra has a long history of successful performances and exciting musical events. We look forward to welcoming our guitar classes we work
on integrating them into our performances.
McGavock Orchestra students also participate in the Mid-State and All-State Orchestras, MTSBOA Solo and Ensemble, the MNPS Senior High Honors
Orchestra, the Governor's School of the Arts, the APSU Honors Orchestra, and the MTSU Honors Orchestra.
Our orchestra hosts 2 performances every year. Fall/Winter concert is held towards the end of November beginning of December. It's an
exciting time as we have some students whom just started playing an instrument in August. This allows them to showcase what they learned and then allows our students whom are more seasoned to
play more advanced pieces. In the Spring we host an outdoor concert (weather permitting) to showcase our Seniors and how far our students have come through out the year. We started a
spring family cookout during this time as well, and welcome our community members to join us and enjoy the delight of orchestra music!
